decade dance

June 10th marked the Uncle Dean's 50th birthday, meaning the only logical action to take was a decade-themed party held the weekend prior. Never one to miss the opportunity to dress up, I insisted on taking the "costumes required" instruction on the party invitation literally.

Outfitted in the finest decade duds thanks to my mom's 20-year-old self's closet and Berkeley's finest thrift stores, Andy and I headed up to Skyline Boulevard in Oakland for the birthday bash.

We had a blast shaking our groove things on the dance floor, hanging with family, and celebrating the wonderful mentor, supporter, and all around all-star human that Andy's uncle is. Given the number of party attendees, it was easy to see just how loved and appreciate Dean is. What a great reminder of how truly lucky we are to have him in our lives!
