Earlier today, we all piled in the Stewart family Citroen and headed north in search of cheese and chocolate. We traveled through some beautiful Swiss countryside before arriving at our first stop - La Maison du Gruyere. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the boys' university cards scored us "Student" admission as we began our cheesey adventure. We were able to taste three types of Gruyere - cheese aged six, eight and 10 months - during our self-guided tour and saw the enormous vats the cheese is made in. As we had yet to get our cheese fix, we sat down in the restaurant and enjoyed a pot of fondue.
The scenery was okay, I guess.
Despite our cheese comas, we were happy to hop back in the car and make our way to our second destination - Callier. We all enjoyed learning the history of the Nestle/Callier brands and gladly consumed all samples along the way.
The goods.
Chocolate and Life - le sigh...
We had a wonderful time adventuring this weekend and can't wait to do it again soon. Thanks for the company, Evan and Andrew!
on to the next one...
Fondue AND chocolate...now I'm even more jealous.
